Maggie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor associated with Larry E. Shyers, Ph.D., and Associates since October 2008. Maggie holds a Master of Science degree from Capella University with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Georgia Southern University. Maggie has additional professional training in forensic interviewing and forensic evaluation.
Maggie has been qualified by the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court to provide expert testimony on issues related to child counseling and physical or sexual abuse.
Maggie specializes in working with children who have been traumatized through physical or sexual abuse. She has worked with children and their families through separation and divorce as well as with issues related to the educational system. She has extensive experience working with children involved in the foster care system.
Maggie works with individuals, couples and families. She provides Christian based services to address the needs of her clients. She feels that each individual has a unique story to share and that counseling can enhance one's ability to grow and learn from life's experiences.
Maggie is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and resides in Mount Dora with her husband and two-year-old son. She enjoys running and recently completed her second marathon at Walt Disney World.
